Whatup! Whatup!
I told myself that I'd blog whenever a thought crosses my head. Sadly, I have no thoughts going through right now. I'm thinking about the same stuff today: thesis, family, Love, what time to leave for Manila and what to do next. But here I am, blogging about nothing going through my head.
Its a rainy All-Saints Day. I think this is the first time I've experience rain on the Day of the Dead. As usual, streets will be clogged with traffic of both cars and people. People going in and out of the cemeteries, cars beeping and honking, the sight of pedicabs trying to steal passengers from the jeepneys, vendors who sell toys for the kids, mobile fast food joints and the sight of people lighting up candles to pray for like 3 minutes and just chatter and walk around afterwards.
I remember November 1 should be a day to offer for the dead. Lately, I see people who make this day, a day of casual get togethers, hanging out with friends, drinking, card games, loud music in the cemetery and the "try to look cool, but you look like a damn fool" day (Effin' Jejemons around the cemetery. Way too many.). A lots changed since those days you were an 8-year old visiting your relatives on November 1.
Today will be different. I just know it. A few of my relatives won't be at the cemetery this year. They've flown outta the country and/or spent time at the "family-owned" Manila condo (It's my grandmothers and they use it like it's theirs). I guess they have their own plans this All-Saints day. On another note, this will be the first time I'll be traveling to Manila on a holiday. Yessir, I have class tomorrow. November 2 isn't declared as a holiday. I don't know why (thanks a lot you RETARD of a president). It hassles me to travel on one of the busiest holidays of the year. Some key streets in the Metro will be packed full of people, and I have to travel through them. Good thing theres private transpo sponsored of course, by grandmama. But still, it's not the same. I'd usually travel back on the 3rd or the 4th. Not on the night of the 1st, where I usually spend the day at the cemetery 'till around 9 or 10 in the evening. I don't wanna rush going back to Manila, but I think I might have to. It's to avoid the hustle and bustle of Manila traffic.
Damn, what a way to celebrate November 1.
